York Rotary Dragon Boat Challenge 2026 off to a great start

Within fourteen days of launching the team application process York Rotary are delighted that we have a full compliment of 36 teams with reserves. Some of the teams have already started fundraising so we are off to a great start and we are looking forward to the event on Sunday 12th July.

We are very grateful to our three corporate sponsors, this year Portakabin, Ramsay Health Care and Simpson. The corporate sponsorship enables 100% of the funds raised by teams going to charities supported by the event.

This year the York Rotary nominated charities supported by the event are Survive and the York Rotary Charity Fund who share 1/3 of the funds raised. The remaining 2/3 of funds raised go to charities nominated by the teams. The final outcome of the event is that approximately 50 charities will receive support. In 2025 £113,000 was raised for charities, mainly local and we hope that can be bettered with the 2026 event.

The process of booking for the North bank gala is open and so far we are well on with bookings for the 22 available pitches.
