Early on Sunday 2nd August 13 York Rotary members and Friends provided baggage handling services for the York 10K. This is the first event of the season where we provide baggage handling or marshalling services.

The arrangements were different this year, instead of using trailers to store the bags this year a large shelter and tables were provided. It all went very well once the team had worked out a new system to cope with the new layout and numbering process we were given!
The weather for the event was lovely and participating was great fun.

Mike Tomlinson of Run For All stopped by again to thank us. He is really grateful for our support.

In the words of Mary Lumley the baggage handling can be summarised as follows “Well, there we were again at 'silly O'clock' putting 'Service above Self'!!! Some would say we were mad, others would say bonkers even but others would say 'Oh, they're just being Rotarians'!! Baggage Handling may not be for everyone but it really is fun being together and we even earn a wage for our charity fund”.
