York Pride was an exciting move for York Rotary. Daring to be different, Mary Lumley and Jane Albon took the Tea Tent to a grass plot with no services at all. York Pride is now the biggest event in North Yorkshire and as an External Relationship exercise we had a stall at this years event. It was a three team event to try this out. With just under nine weeks to go until the 24th York Rotary Dragon Boat Challenge on the 12th July the Captains’ briefing was held on the 11th May at the Novotel. We again have a full compliment of 36 teams along with reserves and all teams were represented at the briefing. The briefing is a very important event, team captains and representatives are fully briefed on the programme for the day, the site layout and management of the event, security and health and safety matter
