This page is the events booking page for use by York Rotary, it is hoped that as many members as possible will want to join one or more of the events.

The events and outline are scheduled below and this page incorporates the booking form. Numbers for some events are limited so to aid planning it is hoped that members will book as soon as possible.
Thursday 18th May: Welcome dinner at The Waterfront, York Marina, Naburn, 6.30 for 7.00pm
This will be the first event and will comprise a two course menu of starter and main, choices to be made on the night. The charge for the dinner is £25.00 a person excluding drinks.
For this event we are looking for members to host two Erlangen visitors and transport them from the Novotel at 6.00pm and then return them to the Novotel at the end of the evening. If you are happy to do this please indicate on the booking form.
Friday 19th May:
Morning Clifford's Tower -10.00am visit to Clifford's Tower - The party will set off from the Novotel at 9.30am or you can meet the party at Clifford's tower. The visit will be approximately one hour and we expect it to be accompanied by a German speaking guide. The visit can be joined at a charge of £6.80 per person for Concessions (65+) or free for English Heritage members. Please indicate the number of paid places that you would like or alternatively the number of free places.
Late morning Mansion House - 11.30am visit to the Mansion House, hopefully with a German speaking guide, visit 1.25 hours, cost £6.50 per person, limited numbers.
Lunch at Pitcher and Piano, Coney Street 1.00pm - the lunch will be a buffet package at a charge of £24.45 per person, including one drink.
Afternoon - This will essential be free time for the Erlangen visitors, but we are facilitating specific activities that they might like to undertake, these will be arranged separately from this booking facility, if you are interested in assisting or participating please talk to Nigel Naish.
Evening - Gala dinner at the Novotel 7.00 for 7.30pm. The dinner will be a three course fixed menu, including a welcome glass of sparkling wine or a soft drink and there will be a limited number of bottles of wine on each table. The charge is £35 a head.
Saturday 20th May: The daytime activity will be a visit to Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal, followed by lunch in Ripon and the free time in Ripon after lunch. Because of the logistics mini bus transport is being used, therefore numbers for minibus will be very limited. Also because of restaurant capacity numbers at lunch will be limited.
Transport - Because of limited transport please make your own way to Fountains Abbey and meet at the visitor centre no later than 10.30am. If you will have transport difficulties and are interested in any available mini bus spaces please contact Nigel Naish.
Fountains Abbey - The charge for the visit will be £18.00 per person, or free for National Trust members. It is hoped that the visit will have a German speaking guide. If you would like to book a paid place please indicate the number on the booking form, alternatively indicate the number of places required for National Trust members.
Please note that the visit will start at the main visitor centre, but it will end at the West Entrance car park for those on the minibuses. The visit will be approximately 2.5 hours.
Lunch - To be held at the Water Rat restaurant in Ripon at approximately 1.00pm. Numbers will be limited to 40 overall so there will be limited spaces for York Rotarians. The lunch will comprise a buffet with one drink included at a cost of £20 per person. If you would like to join please indicate on the booking form, but at this stage payments will not be taken until we can allocate places.
Following lunch there will be a chance to walk around Ripon before returning to York.
Evening - The final event will be a light hearted fun evening at Brew York, Unit 6, Enterprise Complex, Walmgate where will have a private room and small river frontage area. The evening will commence at 7.30pm and the charge will be £20 a person for a main course and one drink. Food will be by Yuzu and comprises Asian Fusion Street food.
It is envisaged that the evening will be one for socialising and recapping on the weekend events and hopefully a sing song or some other fun activity.
Sunday 21st May:
There are no planned activities, but some members might want to join our visitors for breakfast at the Novotel before the farewells. If you are interested in joining the farewell please indicate numbers on the booking form and instructions will then be advised later.

The menus for events are generally fixed menus, but vegetarian and other dietary requirements can be catered for, any such requirements are to be entered in the comments section at the end of the booking form.
