This is the first Oktoberfest by Zoom, being held as a joint venture of Erlangen and York Rotary clubs ....

 

 The date is Thursday 9th November at 6.30pm (UK time or 19.30 CET time). On the night the ‘Zoom Room’ will be open from 6.15pm (19.15 CET) - details of the Zoom room login will be advised to all those attending a few days in advance of the event.

The event is intended as a fun evening as well as a time to catch up with friends.  The plan is that during the evening we will:

​

• hear about Oktoberfest, what happens, fun statistics of the event, why is Oktoberfest mainly held in September and many other items

• hold a mini quiz and that will be carried out on a team basis in break out rooms

• participate in singing from both York and Erlangen

​

Food and drink - Types of food and drink consumed during the evening will be optional, for York Rotary members there will be a prize for the most authentic drink and also the most authentic food, the prize will be judged by our friends from Erlangen.  Equipment for the evening has already been sent as a very kind from Erlangen, subject to numbers, a stone will be given to members on signing up.  For more details of the gift from stones click here.

Dress: Wearing traditional Bavarian costume is not compulsory, but there will be a prize awarded by Erlangen for the York members and guests considered to be the most appropriately dressed and similarly there will be a prize awarded by York members for the Erlangen couple displaying the best traditional costume.

YOU MUST PRE-BOOK A "SPOT" (i.e. a screen, for one or two people) via the sign up form below.  If you want to join as a mini group of Rotarians living locally to one another, that can be done, please indicate on the booking form.
